Modernizing the Concept and Practice of the Learning Organization for New Challenges
The “learning organization” has now for around 30 years been one of
the most popular management concepts in the world. Peter Senge and his
seminal book The Fifth Discipline was among the ones that helped
to coin the idea.
Some have argued that it is necessary for any
organization to become a “learning organization”, while others have
considered it as “merely” a fashionable management concept, that slowly
is and will continue to be replaced by other concepts, such as
“knowledge management”, “innovation”, “agility” etc.
